Canaan PartnersHalda Therapeutics develops oral small-molecule cancer treatments using a technology it calls RIPTAC, short for Regulated Induced Proximity TArgeting Chimera, which pairs a cancer-specific protein with a protein the cell needs to survive so that binding the two kills the cancer cell while sparing healthy ones. Its lead drug, HLD-0915, a once-daily pill for advanced prostate cancer, is in an open-label Phase 1/2 study and showed early anti-tumor activity in its first 40 patients.
The company is based in New Haven, Connecticut, and spun out of Yale University research by professor Craig Crews, who also founded Arvinas. Halda emerged from stealth in 2023, and in November 2025 Johnson & Johnson agreed to acquire it for $3.05 billion in cash.
