T. Rowe PriceNuro is an autonomous-vehicle technology company based in Mountain View, California, founded in September 2016 by former Waymo engineers Jiajun Zhu and Dave Ferguson. It began by building its own driverless delivery vehicles, starting with the compact, cargo-only R1 launched in 2018 with backing from Greylock Partners and Gaorong Capital, and ran pilots with Kroger, Domino's and CVS Pharmacy. Since September 2024 the company has shifted to licensing its Level 4 self-driving system, the Nuro Driver, to automakers and mobility providers instead of operating vehicles itself.
The Nuro Driver has logged over 2 million autonomous miles with zero at-fault incidents across more than five years of driverless deployments. In 2025 Nuro, Uber and Lucid announced a Global Robotaxi Program that will run exclusively on the Uber platform, with Houston service planned for 2027.
