Pantera CapitalOndo Finance brings traditional financial instruments onchain, splitting its work between an asset-management arm that creates tokenized products and a technology arm that builds the DeFi protocols those products run on. Former Goldman Sachs employees Nathan Allman and Pinku Surana co-founded the company in March 2021, launching Ondo Vaults that August before moving into tokenized US Treasuries with OUSG and a dollar-denominated yield token called USDY. Ondo Global Markets now hosts more than 250 tokenized products and commands a 58 percent share of tokenized equities, while Ondo Chain provides a purpose-built layer-1 blockchain with permissioned validators for institutional markets.
The company acquired Oasis Pro Markets, an SEC-registered broker-dealer, and partnered with Franklin Templeton to bring ETFs onchain for 24/7 trading; the SEC closed its investigation into Ondo, giving it clearer regulatory standing. Founders Fund and Tiger Global are among its backers.
