Andreessen HorowitzRadiant Industries, known as Radiant Nuclear, is an American nuclear energy company based in El Segundo, California. Former SpaceX engineer Doug Bernauer founded the company in 2020 after finding no manufacturers of small nuclear reactors for space use, and it now designs Kaleidos, a 1 MW portable microreactor built to fit inside a single shipping container and replace diesel generators at hospitals, remote sites and military bases.
The US Department of Energy selected Radiant to demonstrate Kaleidos at Idaho National Laboratory, the US Air Force is deploying its reactors at Buckley Space Force Base, and in 2026 the US Army awarded the company $750 million to build 15 Kaleidos units at Fort Benning.
