Canton Network and Chainlink announced a strategic partnership on 24 September 2025 under which Canton joined the Chainlink Scale programme and began integrating three Chainlink services: Data Streams (market data delivered on-chain), SmartData — which covers Proof of Reserve and NAVLink — and the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for cross-chain messaging. Under the Scale programme Canton covers certain operating costs of the Chainlink oracle nodes that feed the network, so applications on Canton get those services without each having to fund the oracle layer itself.
In the same announcement Chainlink Labs joined Canton as a Super Validator — a node made up of a Validator plus a Canton Synchronizer component that takes part in the Global Synchronizer — and it appears on the Canton Foundation's published roster of 55 Super Validators, which carry the right to vote on governance matters and on changes to code and services.
Chainlink is an oracle platform: it brings off-chain information onto a blockchain and moves messages and assets between chains.
