Parliament passed the Virtual Asset Service Providers Bill, the SEC announced it on 29 December 2025, and the Bank of Ghana states that the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025 (Act 1154) establishes the legal foundation for the registration, licensing and supervision of VASPs in Ghana.

The Bank of Ghana runs its side with the SEC and the Financial Intelligence Centre and has stood up a Virtual Assets Department.
