Is gold trading legal in Israel?

The State Comptroller's November 2024 audit of digital-currency taxation records that five licence holders were then operating in Israel in the field of virtual assets under a licence granted by the Capital Market Authority, and that the licence allows them to buy, sell and convert virtual assets. The same authority published an investor warning in February 2023 against taking financial services in virtual currencies from unsupervised bodies operating without its licence — which is the shape of the regime: licensed venues are lawful, unlicensed ones are what the regulator warns about.
