Spot crypto is legal to buy, hold and sell, and the service side now runs entirely on MiCA: since 1 July 2026 only a firm holding a CASP authorisation from the ČNB or from another EU supervisor - or a bank, investment firm or other financial institution that has notified the activity - may provide crypto-asset services to customers in the country, and providing them without that permission exposes the firm to ČNB fines whose upper limit exceeds CZK 100 million. The ČNB became the competent authority under MiCA through the Act on the digitalisation of the financial market, and it warns that the great majority of firms that used to serve Czech customers cannot continue, because they missed the transitional regime (a trade licence in field 81 held on 29 December 2024 plus a CASP application filed by 31 July 2025).
The contract itself does not change by geography: a SUI perpetual settles in USDC everywhere.
