Uzbekistan permits crypto and taxes it at zero, then closes the market to a short list of nationally licensed venues. Ownership and trading are lawful, and the state has gone further than tolerance: until 1 January 2029, transactions of legal entities and individuals connected with crypto-asset turnover are not objects of taxation and the income from them is not included in the taxable base.
Two hard boundaries define the rest. First, venue: since 1 January 2023, citizens and legal entities of Uzbekistan may carry out purchase, sale or exchange of crypto-assets 'exclusively through national service providers', and service providers 'may be exclusively legal entities that are residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan'.
The licensed provider types are the crypto-exchange, the mining pool, the crypto-depository and the crypto-shop.
The contract itself does not change by geography: a ZRO perpetual settles in USDC everywhere.
