DST GlobalRappi is a Colombian super-app headquartered in Bogotá, with additional offices in São Paulo and Mexico City. Three Colombian entrepreneurs, Simón Borrero, Felipe VillamarÃn and Sebastián MejÃa, founded the company in 2015, building it into an on-demand platform for food, grocery and pharmacy delivery alongside RappiPay and RappiBank, its digital payments and banking businesses.
The app now operates in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, connecting more than 200,000 restaurants and stores across over 300 cities. SoftBank became a major stakeholder in April 2019 with a $1 billion investment that valued Rappi at $3.5 billion.
